Matthew 5:19-20 (KJV)
19  Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20  For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Whenever you see a therefore in the scripture, find out what the therefore is therefore! I can see this conclusion as referring back to two statements. 1. Let your light shine before men…that they may glorify your Father which is in heaven. 2. Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all are fulfilled.

Living for Jesus is never easy. We are constantly bombarded with stuff from religious leaders who seem to have found the new way, shortcuts to discipleship. Come to this conference or enroll in this Bible study and life will be all wonderful, shortcuts more likely than not wind up as dead ends. Whosoever breaks and teaches to do is least. Whosoever does and teaches to do is great. We must elevate our game! Never does easy and discipleship go together. Our lives are an open book. People watch us and sometimes this is the only Jesus they see. Don’t mislead someone with promises of its all cake from here. Erma Bombeck has a book entitled, “If life is a bowl of cherries, why am I always in the pits!” Wow is that ever true.

While life may be hard at times, and finding the way that is right can seem difficult, we have this blessed assurance, Matthew 28:20 (KJV) 20  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. We are blessed!
