Matthew 5:25-26 (KJV)
25  Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
26  Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.

This is more than just good advice. If we are to be blessed as peacemakers we must develop the attitude of receiving and giving forgiveness. Love trumps all. The key to real forgiveness is love. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 (KJV) 1  Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2  And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 3  And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Service without love “profits me nothing”. Forgiveness is like receiving a gift; if it is not opened and taken to oneself, it is never fully realized. The same must also apply to giving, not just offering, forgiveness. You can’t fix other people’s attitudes, only yours. You give, then it’s up to others to fully receive.

To some people’s dismay, not everybody in church likes everybody else in church! This should not be, but hiding your head in the sand won’t fix it. As we grow in love we begin to learn to love as Jesus loved and still loves. There is a song that I like called “Little Country Church” (Love Song). One of the lines goes “…Long hair, short hair, some coats and ties people finally coming around. Looking past the hair straight in to eyes, people finally coming around.” As we grow we begin to understand that God loves people! So “agree with thine adversary quickly.” So that peace will usher in a new attitude toward revival. Embrace the love, embrace the moment! We are blessed.
