Matthew 5:27-28 (KJV)
27  Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: 28  But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Wow! This could mean trouble for allot of us. Jesus is teaching us about root causes. Murder from anger, Adultery from looking with lust. James 1:15 (KJV)
“15  Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin”. Jesus isn’t making a check list that we can use to say, “I didn’t do this and I didn’t do that, so, I am good.” Jesus is teaching us about a sinful heart, a rebellious heart. Now we all know that temptation isn’t sin, but yielding is. The commandments of God are not just to show us sin, but to show that we are sinners, rebellious in our hearts. This law should point us to God’s remedy, the shed blood of Christ! Jesus is the fulfillment of the law.

Our religion is more than a list of do’s and don’ts. It is a relationship with God through Jesus.  We are not perfect, but are moving closer to what God desires from us. We still sin but are covered. Sometimes our sin is spontaneous, reaction to our current environment. Sometimes our sin based on presumption, we plan it presuming that God’s grace will cover. It will, but you will bare the consequences of your action. God’s love for us is unmoving and abundant. Romans 8:37-39 (KJV) “37  Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39  Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  We are blessed.
