Matthew 5:36-37 (KJV)
36  Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
37  But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

The games people play. Honesty while not always easy is always right. You cannot build on deceit. My wife has asked me many times about how she looks, knowing this is a very dangerous question, I seek wisdom. My youngest son finally came up with a great answer. “You are like Mary Poppins, practically perfect in every way.” We build solid relationships with truth. We tend to patronize people to put them off, tell little white lies, or just lie. All in trying to not hurt or offend. We need to speak truth, live truth and be truth.

To swear that we will do this or not that is setting ourselves up for failure, because we don’t control all the things around us. We don’t want to be mean, or to be hurtful in the things we do or say. Sometimes silence can be very loud. Learn to speak the truth in love. Your foot can only go in your mouth of it is open. Tact is another thing that doesn’t grow in every ones garden. Think about whether or not what you want to say, should be said. Bite your tongue at times showing wisdom and control.

There are times when we should speak, and speak loudly. Don’t let truth be destroyed because we don’t want to get involved. Be the light! James 1:4-5 (KJV)
4  But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. 5   If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.  We are blessed.
